Inspiration #3

I love the simplicity and elegance of this cake. It doesn't have too much going on, when I finally get to talk about my cake, I will be bringing in this picture!

Great Destination Wedding Location #2

About 9 months ago, Frank and I went to Vero Beach, Florida to stay at Disney's Vero Beach Resort. The resort was adorable, a quaint little hotel right on the beach. There are cabins, suites, and standard rooms within this beautiful hotel. We were lucky enough to get to "watch" a wedding take place from the balcony of the bar. It was beautiful, and Frank and I actually strongly considered it for our wedding ceremony location. We favored Disney World in the end because people would already be flying in; we didn't want them to have to drive for a couple of hours after they landed.

If you are looking for a beach wedding environment, I think this would be lovely. The accommodations are great, and there are a lot of fun activities on property and nearby. It is a really beautiful area overall.

Disney-fy Your Wedding #1

You don't need to have your wedding at a Disney resort to add some Disney magic to your special day. There are many things you can do from any location. My latest series, starting today, will be ways to Disney-fy Your Wedding.

Being a Disney Bride, I have spent countless hours googling and searching for Disney wedding ideas. I find so many great ideas, whether you are hosting your wedding at a Disney resort, or in your own backyard!!!

Disney-fy Your Wedding Idea #1

Add your favorite Disney Song to your music list. Try something fun, or something romantic. It doesn't have to be "Someday My Prince Will Come," just a tune that makes you happy. One of my favorite songs in a Disney movie is "These Little Wonders," by Rob Thomas. They play it at the end of "Meet the Robinsons," with my favorite Walt Disney quote. I cry EVERY time.
“Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things… and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”
-Walt Disney

This song always gives me goosebumps, and poor Frank has had to listen to it on repeat over and over. He actually suggested it for our first dance song, and I think it is perfect.
There are many romantic Disney songs to choose from, but the CDs Disney's Love Songs and Disney's Fairytale Weddings have enough to get you started on your search.

Wedding Rooms Booked!

I must say I am EXTREMELY excited about having not only a destination wedding (which I've always wanted) but also a wedding at Disneyworld. With this excitement, though, comes a tinge of guilt. I do feel bad that people have to travel so far, and just the cost associated with everything. My family and friends will be coming mostly from Oregon, while Frank's will be coming mostly from the New York/Boston regions. I try to remind myself that even if we had it in one of our hometowns, one of our families would be making a long trip. But to ease some of the expenses, we have tried to help some of our most distant travellers out with hotel costs. I am so excited with the outcome! See, Frank and I have DVC, Disney Vacation Club. It is a great timeshare that enables us to stay at our favorite hotels in Disneyworld and other hotels throughout the world for little or no charge (other than annual dues.) We were able to cover the costs of so many rooms for people in my all time favorite hotel, The Animal Kingdom Lodge!!! I am just really happy to share this hotel with our closest family and friends. It is our favorite hotel, and conveniently where our rehearsal dinner will be held. DVC is also opening up a new hotel at The Contemporary Hotel, and we booked up a room there in a two bedroom suite for a little bachelorette party for me! The room has a view of the Magic Kingdom, so we can have our little fun time, then watch the fireworks over Cinderella's castle!!! Making the decision to have a Disneyworld wedding wasn't really mine, Frank definitely pulled for that one. I don't know how I'll ever thank him!!!
